Yeah this is really a much needed feature. Especially when you subscribe to feeds like engadget which in somedays post 100 or more items each day it gets really unmanageable. Doesn’t anyone in google actually use their own products?

You can do it a few ways depending on your phone. If you are using an Android, you can use a app like Go SMS where you can save your text messages, you can then get a xml file which you can email to Evernote. Or you can do it one by one by copying the text message into an email and emailing it into your Evernote Email address, or you can copy and paste the text into a new note on your Evernote mobile app.

How about a QR code on the door jamb, overlapping the VIN?

How about an RFID?

And, on license plates, at least in Minnesota, there are “drunk codes,” number prefix groups that cops can spot indicating a past DWI. That’s why some people opt for vanity plates.

But besides owner driving record, (overlapping driver license checks when police stop an auto-driver), original equipment serial number info for engines, transmissions, drive trains, etc., could be coded along with CarFax and other history data, so that stolen major parts could be identified in a routine stop. Repair shop data entry data, all that could be used to lessen crime.

If the NRA was not so strong a lobby, RFID chips would be put into every handgun sold. Good sense and partisan politics when the two conflict would have to be a part of the implementation of your idea.
