I think I may consider doing this for a series of different apps if my website and book http://www.theevernotebook.com take off. Right now the website looks pretty ugly and basic but I am focusing on getting good content first and then I will put up the new website design. I am currently working on 3 different website designs, one for the desktop, one for mobile phones and a 3rd for tablet and netbooks.

Let me start off by saying thank you for downloading the profile. I design the extra useless buttons because I didn't really understand how the buttons at the bottom would function. I am all for making the profile more useful, what two buttons would you like to see on the profile? Root menu and what else?

Hi, you did a great job creating this Profile.
I wondered why you did an extra show desktop and macros button. Especially since your "show desktop" button does not work for me. A cool thing to add instead the two more or less useless buttons would be support for dvd-things like a button to return to dvd menu or so.

PS: I didnt know how to install it with ubuntu and downloading it with ipod touch safari didnt work for me so I had to ssh to my jailbroken ipod and find the hipporemote folder (you can find it by serching for hippo in /var/mobile/Applications/ ) and put the unzipped totem Profile there. (I wrote this just in case someone else has the same problems)

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I figure if I can help other website owners and developers find issues on their sites then I am making the web a better place, and making those tools better for me as a user.

Great post, so true, so many times i have came across a bug or a snag in a site, even sites i use daily. I will now make a point of trying to, polietly, contact the site owner where possible just to make them aware.

Keep up the good work,
William

Given how sensitive some of your tax information can be, especially tax returns with social security numbers, I would consider scanning anything sensitive into a PDF first, save it with a password, then attach it to EN. Otherwise, the above is very good information, especially about getting information out of EN, a topic rarely discussed. Well done.
